INFRARED-SAUNA
FAQ
What is the benefit of using an Infrared Sauna?
Infrared saunas are significantly different from your traditional high heat, high moisture sauna experience. Longer sessions with lower temperatures and zero humidity helps your body to heat up gently while maximizing the benefits of an intense sweat session, generating a sweat 7x more detoxifying than a traditional sauna. Increased circulation, detoxification and immune system boosting are all wonderful effects from Infrared therapy.
Should I shower before or after my Infrared session?
Summerhill Skin Clinic does not have showers available. Showering before your session will help you "sweat clean". It is best to wait one to two hours after finishing your Infrared session before taking a shower, as the benefits of the sauna will continue after your session is finished.
What is the best thing to wear during my Infrared session?
It is recommended that you wear a towel or a bathing suit; this will help insure that you have the best experience possible while visiting our Infrared sauna. ***Oils and lotions can be damaging to the Infrared sauna; therefore, please do not apply oils, lotions or perfumes before your session.
Should I bring a towel with me to my session?
Yes! One to two towels is perfect. Please bring one to sit on while you are in the sauna and you may want an extra towel to dry off with. We will have towels available in case you forget to bring one.
What if the sauna feels too hot for me?
Unlike regular saunas, Infrared saunas are set to a lower temperature. This helps your body heat up gently while still providing an intense sweat session. Most people are able to comfortably sit through a 30 minute session without feeling too overheated. We are able to adjust the sauna's temperature if needed.
How frequently should I go in for Infrared sessions?
Infrared saunas provide the best results the more frequently they are used. 3X a week is recommended for optimal benefits. We offer several different session packages so you receive the best results at the lowest price.
Can I use my cell phone in the sauna?
Yes! You are more than welcome to use your cell phone during your session to play music by connecting through Bluetooth. We ask that you do not talk on the phone during your session. However, this is a great opportunity to set your phone down and have 30 uninterrupted minutes to relax and let your stress melt away.
Does my period affect my ability to use the Infrared sauna?
Not at all. You are still able to keep your scheduled appointments. Actually, the Infrared sauna has been known to help with relief from cramping and bloating. Please note that the Infrared sauna may result in a temporary increase in flow.
Are there any age restrictions on the Infrared sauna?
We ask that all our Infrared sauna clients are18 or older.
What if I am pregnant or taking medication?
It is best to talk to your doctor first. Please be sure to take the precautions necessary. The Infrared Sauna will heat your core body temperature; this could affect the way your body handles medication.
Should I eat before/after my session?
Eat a couple hours before coming in for your session. This will allow you to properly digest your food. Feel free to eat after your session. Drink lots of water before, during and after your session. Stay hydrated!
Where can I make an appointment?

What if I have to cancel or I am running late to the session?

Detox
Infrared sauna therapy is a viable means of detoxifying the body of heavy metals. It uses a heavy metal detox protocol to mobilize specific toxins nearly three inches below the surface of your skin. Infrared saunas heat your body from the inside to expel toxins from deep down, rather than simply heating the air to draw out toxins. Infrared sauna therapy is also a powerful force in transitioning the autonomic nervous system out of stress response back to states of relaxation and rejuvenation.
